Millenium_Falcon_Carseat

Yay for Friday!  I was inspired this week by a Newspaper Blackout poem by Austin Kleon titledInstalling a Car Seat on the Millennium Falcon.  Could not get the image of Han Solo being very annoyed, and Leia getting on his case about not installing the carseat properly.  Probably because, haven’t we all been there with car seats?

I mean, you have your car seat, but if you travel at all, you end up lugging one with you, borrowing one from family, or renting one.  Then struggling with the car to get it in.  Does the car have hooks to attach the seat?  Should you just do the seatbelt instead…and is that really secure? Face the carseat forwards or backwards? Uggggggghhhhh!!!!!!!!

And even if you don’t travel, eventually you have to change out the seat for the next version.  And the nightmare begins all over again.

I feel like we should already be at the point where we have babies in giant bubbles and the babies can just flop around the car.  Or at least I wish we were at that point as Boom Boom hates to be strapped in.  Always a distraction of a song or CRACKERS is required.  (Luckily there is always old  crackers to give him in the crevices of his carseat.)

Have you had any crazy car seat experiences?

PS And what are you up to this weekend?  I’ll be teaching Prenatal Yoga at a local studio, and catching up on some Jams that need to be made.  Stock up on the stone fruits while they’re still in season, y’all.
